Learn the art of embroidery! The ultimate Sunday reset: an afternoon of slow stitching
Join us for a beautifully slow stitching session, guided by Andie Reeves, founder of Cape Town Craft Club, a fibre artist and teacher with over a decade of sewing experience.
Over a peaceful afternoon, you’ll learn the art of hand embroidery, a meditative craft that allows you to add personal details to fabric and create unique, tactile works of art. Not only is embroidery easy to pick up, it’s also a wonderfully calming practice, giving you a chance to slow down, focus, and enjoy making something with your hands.
This workshop invites you to bring along a cherished item — this could be anything, like a jacket, shirt, dress or pillowcase — and discover how to embellish it with your own stitched details. We’ll cover the essentials of embroidery, focusing on how to turn your ideas into wearable art. Perfect for absolute beginners, you’ll learn everything from threading a needle and choosing fabrics and threads to tracing designs and selecting stitches to bring your vision to life.
We will be meeting at 156 Kloof, a serene and joyful setting for celebrations and gatherings.
