What is a Cake Picnic?A cake picnic is simple: everyone brings a cake, we lay them out on tables, and together we create the city’s biggest cake table! After a photo-and-video-friendly viewing time, we cut everything into slices and share them fairly. You’ll get to taste a variety of cakes while enjoying sunshine and good company on the lawns of one of Cape Town’s most beautiful gardens.

What to Bring: A cake (No cake = No entry, even with a ticket).Picnic blanket.Your ticket.Drinks (non-alcoholic please).Sunhat, sunscreen, and your sweet tooth!

The Day at a Glance:11:00am – 11:30am : Cake Viewing (photos & videos encouraged, no cutting yet).11:30am – 12:00pm : Cake Cutting (all cake- bringers must cut their cakes into 10+ slices).12:00pm – 15:00pm : Cake Tasting & Picnicking (in groups of 20).

Important Arrive on time (11am sharp) to get your group number. First come first served!

House Rules:Max 10 slices per person.Family-friendly: No alcohol, smoking, or disruptive behaviour.Respect the gardens: No littering, no climbing trees.Cakes must be labelled with ingredients/allergens/specifications (i.e. halaal or gluten-free)

Parking & Transport: Limited street parking nearby (Main Rd & Church St). If full, we’ll signpost overflow options (subject to availability). No marshals provided. Please park considerately. Ride share (Uber/Bolt) highly recommended!
