Bishops movie night in support of Zimele and Enable!
Hosted by Bishops in support of Zimele NPC & Enable Centre
Join us for an unforgettable outdoor Mobile Cinema Night on Saturday, 7 February 2026, proudly co-hosted by Zimele, Enable, and Bishops Diocesan College. This special community event brings people together to celebrate inclusion, dignity, and connection all under the stars on the beautiful Bishops grounds.
Our feature film for the evening is “The Upside” (2017), an uplifting story of resilience, friendship, and possibility — themes that align perfectly with the missions of Zimele and Enable. The film will be screened on a large-scale mobile cinema system that accommodates up to 1 000 attendees, complete with ambient lighting and full audio setup to create a true outdoor cinema experience.
Come hungry and enjoy a selection of delicious food!
The iconic Truck Norris Food Truck will serve gourmet burgers, chips, milkshakes, and cheesecake, while a dedicated Pancake Truck will offer fresh pancakes, coffee, and soft drinks. Additional treats, including Kristen’s KickAss Ice Cream, popcorn vendors, and refreshments from the Bishops Rugby Club, aim to make it a full family night out.
Throughout the evening, guests can browse local market stalls and take part in a lucky draw, featuring prizes such as a Rovos Rail experience, a luxury stay at St James Hotel, a paragliding adventure, Noordhoek horse riding, Beaumont Wine Club membership, and more.
The movie, ‘The Upside’, will start at 19:45. The event will be picnic style so bring blankets and fold-up chairs for the evening.
We are also hoping to welcome a special guest speaker — an inspirational Bishops old boy — to highlight the spirit of community upliftment.
All proceeds from the event will support Zimele NPC and Enable, helping both organisations extend their impact, and empower individuals to live with greater independence and dignity.
Bring your picnic blankets, gather your family and friends, and enjoy a meaningful night that supports mobility, empowerment, and belonging.
The NPOs involved:
Zimele is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering amputees from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds in South Africa. Its core mission is to help clients reclaim their independence and reintegrate fully into society. Zimele achieves this through a comprehensive, interdisciplinary rehabilitation program. The services provided include expert prosthetic fitting and specialized gait training to restore mobility. Crucially, Zimele also offers vital physical and psychological rehabilitation, encompassing pain management, strength conditioning, and trauma counselling. Beyond the clinical services, the organization aids social integration by providing advice on home adaptations, and by facilitating access to skills training and meaningful work opportunities. Zimele’s holistic approach transforms the lives of amputees, helping them become self-sufficient members of their communities and advocating for broader policy change in rehabilitation accessibility.
Enable Centre is a premier outpatient physical and cognitive rehabilitation facility in Cape Town, South Africa, offering interdisciplinary care from a team of biokineticists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists. They treat complex neurological and orthopaedic conditions using a science-driven, goal-oriented approach. Enable’s non-profit arm, the Enable Initiative, runs the vital Equal Access Programme. This programme is means-tested and designed to bridge the gap between private and public healthcare, ensuring that high-quality, specialized rehabilitation services are accessible and affordable for individuals from low socio-economic backgrounds, fulfilling their aim of “Therapy for All.”
The organizations are related by their shared mission to combat socio-economic inequality by expanding access to specialized rehabilitation in South Africa.
