Higher Action is a five-piece band formed by Conor McCullagh son of Mike McCullagh from Mike and the Harmonix and McCully Workshop.

The group consists of CONOR on lead guitar, UZAIR ABADER on keyboard, BECCA VILJOEN on guitar and vocals, and HEITOR BROTHERS on bass and drums. The group play an eclectic mix of songs by famous artists giving them an original spin – songs by STING, SEAL, SANTANA, GUNS N’ ROSES, THE POLICE, THE BEATLES, BOB MARLEY, MICHAEL BUBLE, TOTO, DIRE STRAITS, ERIC CLAPTON and more, and all get the band’s own special treatment.

Uzair has played piano throughout his school career and beyond. While he was in the school jazz band, he has performed in shows from school assemblies to the Morning Show on SABC 3.

Becca is currently studying jazz singing at UCT South African College of Music, and has performed with the Herschel school band.

Conor has performed with Mike and the Harmonix in their Legends Show to great applause.

Gabriel has played the drums in various bands over the years and has performed in numerous live school shows and professional gigs.

Mathew, after playing drums for seven years, learning the fundamentals of rhythm, discovered his passion for the electric bass early in high school. He has since rocked the low-end in numerous school concerts and professional gigs with various bands.

BOOKING NOTES

If you can’t get the table configuration you want and end up booking seats on different tables as a result, please do so under the same email address and we’ll automatically put you together on one table. In fact, any seats booked under the same email address we will assume are together and arrange seating at one table. If this is not the case, however, or if you are booking with friends under different email addresses, just let us know and we’ll make a plan to seat you together. If the event appears sold-out, or you want to add to an existing booking, the same applies - just drop us an email to events@caferoux.co.za and we’ll do our best to make a plan!
