Nic Preen’s music has been described as alternative-indie-surf-rock-pop for horses.

He is a musician and songwriter who hails from Cape Town. He is most notable as the principal songwriter and frontman for chart-topping group Al Bairre, one of South Africa’s biggest Indie-Pop exports.

In 2016, he also founded ‘The World Of Birds,’ which gained him a global following and international radio play with hit singles such as ‘Yellow Brick Road and ‘Wish You Were Here,’ a band in which he still resides. After years of touring and recording with the band, Nic signed to a record label in the UK and made the bold decision to move to London; in his time working between Cape Town and London, he’s devoted some of his songwriting to this personal project and a platform to perform his entire discography. Nic is inspired by the likes of Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, and George Michael, the latter being the source of inspiration for his track, ‘Jitterbug.’

In fact, any seats booked under the same email address we will assume are together and arrange seating at one table. If this is not the case, however, or if you are booking with friends under different email addresses, just let us know and we’ll make a plan to seat you together. If the event appears sold-out, or you want to add to an existing booking, the same applies - just drop us an email to events@caferoux.co.za and we’ll do our best to make a plan!
