Have you wondered about the history of Cape Town? Why are things the way they are?

Join social historian and heritage activist Lucy Campbell on a walking tour of the city that uncovers its hidden and forgotten history.

The tour will include the Castle of Good Hope, the Slave Lodge, Krotoa’s monument and the auction block where enslaved people were sold.

This event is a partnership between Triangle Project and Transcending History Tours to raise funds for the Queer Food Growing Collective and Triangle Project’s nutritional support programme. Access to basic human rights such as land, water and food are crucial challenges faced by the queer community, to address this the collective supports queers in marginalised communities who run community food gardens.

All the proceeds will go towards the nutritional support to siblings and needs of the growers and food gardens.

The walking tour is weather dependent, if it rains the event will be focused in and around the Slave Lodge museum.

The price of the ticket does not include entry into the Slave Lodge, which is R60. There is a discounted rates for students with a valid South African student card.

Please note: This tour is not mainstream and speaks to displacement, erasure, the legacies of colonialism and reparations.
