Through a case study of their award-winning short film Mirror Mirror and feature film Black Burns Fast, director & writer Sandulela Asanda and producer Cait Pansegrouw will guide you through their journey from short to Sandulela Asanda’s debut feature in their masterclass From Short to Feature: Building a Model for Black Girl Joy.
Masterclass participants will learn from their strategy in developing a short film as a proof of concept for the themes, characters, and visual language expanded on in the feature, and how they leveraged the short film’s success to finance an independent feature-length South African film.
