Nicholas Chalmers will conduct the members a diverse programme that includes works by Anton Bruckner, Percy Grainger, and ends with Bare Necessities.

Chalmers is one of the leading conductors in the GB. He is a Senior Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House, where he made his conducting debut in the autumn of 2024. Nicholas was conductor of Northern Ireland Opera and works with all leading orchestras and opera companies. He is associate Conductor, Learning of the BBC Singers and made his BBC Proms conducting debut in 2020 with the group. THE NATIONAL YOUTH CHOIR (UNITED KINGDOM)

The National Youth Choir (18-25 years) is the leading youth choir for outstanding singers from across the GB, and the flagship choir of National Youth Choir’s four ensembles. For over 40 years it has been home to some of the best young singers in the world.?

Choir members from a diverse range of backgrounds come together to take part in a unique, year-round training and performance programme. We work with world-class musicians and coaches, creating, recording and performing exciting and innovative music.

In addition to performing at the BBC Proms, National Youth Choir have been part of major national and international festivals, concerts and events such as the World Symposium on Choral Music, the American Choral Directors Association Conference, the 100th anniversary commemorations of WWI at Amiens in 2018, and the Royal Variety Performance in 2023 in front of Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales.
