Join us this August, as Curate My World partners with the beautiful Glenhof Manor, in a curated celebration of local artists and designers, centered around pattern, colour and cultures in Africa. Glenhof Manor is a gorgeous, historical building in Newlands, Cape Town. Once home to the French Embassy, it is now open to guests and events.

Having been mostly closed to the public for quite some years, the dynamo team ( Evren, Thato and Tadiwa) have brought her back to life with lots of hard restoration work, their incredible personalities and a huge amount of love, which is tangible. It is in this spirit and with a massive love for this country, that we invite you to come and delight in the incredible works of established fine artists : Kyle Jardine’s vibrant personality shines through in his playful style, exploring a world that encompasses joyful, innocent & queer themes. Drawing inspiration and experience from stage performance, drag culture and his queer identity and his appreciation of heritage & history through architectural references. His use of colour throughout his work, along with characters, print & patterns flow from brush to canvas with ease, highlighting his influence from the world of fashion, costume design & all things theatrical. Careshia Esperanza artist and illustrator uses bold colours in her multi-media works. Her work is expressive, energetic and playful - it flows with life and personality. Monsters and human forms, her work will hold you for hours as you discover all the little hidden gems. Photographer Ed Suter “ I am motivated by the word ”energy” – I want the work I do and the photographs I take to convey a sense of the energy of South Africa. It’s the energy that one picks up walking through a particular neighbourhood where the colours are bright, the fabrics bold, the characters are quirky and the light just right” Textile designer: Hannah Claire Creations is a gorgeous mother & daughter duo. Their illustrative designs printed mostly on velvet, each tell a story. Drawing inspiration and imagery from Africa, animals, fauna and flora, bold patterns and colours- their work will make you smile. They have quite an extensive range of products, most of which will be on show and available at this event. Pottery from Potterswork- locally created and hand painted. Each piece is made with love and passion and rooted in African tradition. The artists have developed the abstract African aesthetic, for which Potterswork has become known around the world. Also exhibiting: first time exhibitor, fine artist, Elizabeth Watson. In this body of paintings, she celebrates the diverse cultures and scenic beauty in South Africa, woven together through the depiction of African women and their ‘crowns’. “ I want the audience to fall in love with these ladies, see beauty in our differences and our commonalities, the beauty that is all around us in our environment and within us all”

Photographer, Evren Tortum will be showcasing some of her selected wild life photography from her travels in and around Africa. A full list of artists and designers will be posted before the event. Take a tour around the Manor, lunch on the lawn and enjoy a glass of wine with the most incredible mountain backdrop while listening to the beautiful live music by renowned classic accordionist, Stanislav Angelov.
