This is one not to miss, as dozens of top spinners from in and around Cape Town rendezvous on the Castrol Spinning Pitch at Killarney International Raceway on Saturday 29 August, to bring you a display of spinning you haven’t experienced in a long time.
It’s the biggest spinning event of the year at Killarney - a multicultural spectacle, presented by local NGO S.P.I.N. (Supporting People In Need) in collaboration with ,Killarney, bringing together the best spinners from around the country to entertain the Western Cape’s spinning enthusiasts. The main attraction would be the new wave of highly talented youth spinners coming into the sport recently, amongst many of the heavy hitters that have been entertaining you for the longest time.
This national series event will also feature a Killarney Drag Day, organised by the hosts WPMC, a Drift Matsuri (festival) of high-speed, sideways action, a mind-blowing ,Show ‘n Shine, display occupying the entire Old Pits Paddock, curated by Larron Brown of Midnight Car Culture and an internationally recognised IASCA Sound Off in the Joubert Pits.
On the drag strip, heavy hitters such as Herman Mostert from Oudtshoorn and his seven-second Champ bakkie are expected to take on local heroes such as Jody van Schoor’s old-school Golf and the sledgehammer Nissan GTR of Yaseen Ebrahim, among others, while the Sound Off competitors have one more opportunity to break international records in the Western Cape for 2026.
It’s a FAMILY FESTIVAL with kiddies’ play areas, ice-cold beverages and delicious food (including halaal).
