ABOUT ZACH AND ROLAND

Zachary Esau is a Cape Town–based actor and comedian. He holds a degree in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town and has appeared in numerous professional productions, including Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Maynardville. As a comedian, Zachary is a three-time Jive Funny Championship finalist and has showcased his stand-up work at the National Arts Festival.

Roland du Preez is an actor, comedian, writer, and musician. Their career highlights include acting in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directing Hoek, Lyn, en Sinker, and making their solo play Rescue Remedy which has been nominated for a 2025 Woordtrofee. As a finalist of the 2025 Jive Funny Championship, they are already burning bright in the SA comedy scene. Roland’s work focuses on queer joy, intergenerational trauma, and the reclaiming of Afrikaans culture on one’s own terms.
