Friday Night Live is a series of beautiful, intimate performances from some of the most exciting talent Cape Town and South Africa has to offer, hosted at the KAYA Café. Friday Night Live is an event for performers to take in their own direction, creating an environment for audiences to engage deeply with the music, the meaning, and the people behind it all.

NALA Collective was formed as a space for female jazz musicians to thrive. The band aims to showcase and platform women in jazz as well as combat misogyny in the music industry.

Formed by several young jazz musicians who met studying jazz at UCT, NALA Collective performs contemporary South African jazz compositions drawn from a rich well of female composers and artists. The band performs original arrangements and compositions with a full and dynamic sound produced by a horn section, vocal harmonies and a grooving rhythm section. NALA Collective is not only highlighting the past contributions of women to jazz but is pushing for a future where their presence on stage is the industry standard.

The Band has performed sold out shows at various venues in Cape Town such as Selective Live, Queens Lounge and the Obscene Parrot.
