THE HORRORFEST 20th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION /OPENING NIGHT

For two decades the HORRORFEST team has given Cape Town it’s most fun and exciting Halloween event at the Labia Theatre, covering all things spooky. From movies, short films, documentaries and literature, to live silent film soundtrack performances, Halloween dress-up, old school 16mm film projections and a whole lot more.

To celebrate this two decade milestone, the HORRORFEST will have a special opening night on Halloween eve (Wednesday 30 October), not only for special guests, media and filmmakers, but also a limited amount of public tickets. An amazing birthday cake from SWEET LION HEART will be the centerpiece, with PIERRE JOURDAN champagne on arrival, and for those who need a boost, SLAYER ENERGY drinks!

The festival will include new & classic movies and dozens of short films (all which you’re unlikely to see in any SA cinema, like TERRIFIER 3, CHAINSAWS WERE SINGING, TRIPPING THE DARK FANTASTIC, SOLVENT, VAMPIRE ZOMBIES…FROM SPACE!, local production BREATHING IN with cast & crew attending plus many more). There’s The Makabra Ensemble’s live soundtrack performance to classic 1911 Italian silent film DANTE’S INFERNO (L’Inferno), ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW audience participation screening, the BLOODY PARCHMENT literature night (back as an in-person event at Exclusive Books Cavendish), 50th anniversary screening of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, Halloween dress-up, prizes, give- aways and much more.
