Join Tarryn de Kock for a 2 hour dining experience exploring how the Columbian Exchange reshaped African cuisines. Discover how ingredients we consider authentically African today—tomatoes, maize, chillies—actually traveled from distant continents to become deeply local.

The Journey Travel through six African nations as we uncover surprising food histories through carefully curated tastings and interactive storytelling.

BEFORE (Hour 1): Experience authentic pre-Columbian flavors—indigenous ingredients like sorghum, yam, and millet that sustained communities for millennia.NOW (Hour 2): Taste how introduced ingredients became local classics, from jollof rice to South African street foods, revealing how communities transformed global disruption into culinary innovation.

What’s Included:12 expertly crafted small plates showcasing before-and-after African cuisinesInteractive storytelling with visual presentations mapping ingredient journeysSweet finale featuring desserts from all eight countries
