Cape Ballet Africa’s production of Giselle brings together international and local excellence under Maina Gielgud’s artistic direction. The romantic ballet follows a peasant girl whose love and forgiveness transcend betrayal and death… one of the most moving stories in the classical repertoire. The production features new designs by Michael Mitchell, and performances to recordings by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

Cape Ballet Africa, founded by Artistic Director Debbie Turner, reimagines classical ballet through a proudly African lens, blending discipline, elegance, and cultural heritage. The company produces bold, world-class performances that celebrate individuality, collaboration, and artistic excellence, while nurturing the next generation of dancers through education and mentorship.
