More about Charla:Charla Bosman (née Haasbroek) is the winemaker at Sijnn Wines. She also makes wine under her own label, Charla Haasbroek Wines.

Charla Bosman grew up in Johannesburg. In 2012, she graduated with a degree in BSc Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University. Her first harvest was at Kanonkop with the famous Abrie Beeslaar, and the next at Tokara with Miles Mossop. After managing the wine shop at the Oude Bank Bakkerij in Stellenbosch, she worked a harvest at Margerum in California.Charla Bosman joined the Sijnn team in December 2014 as assistant winemaker, and has been there ever since.

Her rich tapestry of experiences across renowned estates and international vineyards, brought a fresh perspective to Sijnn. Her expertise, combined with her innovative approach, complements the foundational principles set by the founders of Sijnn. Moreover, her venture, Charla Haasbroek Wines, further cements her reputation in the world of winemaking, offering a parallel narrative of excellence. In 2022 Charla was awarded the title ‘Young Winemaker of the Year’ by prestigious wine journalist, and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin.
