Fundraising:This event is to raise funds for NPO, Link2Grow’s mentorship programme where we match high school girls with professional women to guide them through subject choice, career options, psychometric assessment, life skills workshops, tertiary application and funding. Raffle tickets for great prizes will be on sale.
Facilitators: Penelope Edwins: Penelope, has a Master’s Degree and is a qualified neuropsychologist, who is currently busy completing her PhD. She has a keen interest in establishing and discovering innovative and effective methods of treating mental disorders and she has a particular focus the impact of hormones in women. Penny is also a hardworking researcher with extensive quantitative and qualitative research and writing experience.
Shelldon Breda: a registered dietitian and PhD candidate in food science. Founder of Steps with Nutrition, she has experience in community health and private practice. She’s passionate about using food as a tool for lifelong wellness - especially in empowering the youth.
Format for the morning – in 2 parts:Penny giving input from the hormonal perspective and a nutrition focus from ShelldonThe first segment - a younger age focus 15 – 40 Then second segment - focus on 40 plus age groupInformal Q&A and discussion after each section will also include: Suzanne Leighton – Complementary practitioner
