Throughout her career, Ingrid has worn multiple hats, including those of a television and radio presenter. She is the co-owner and editor-in-chief of Mikateko Media, a media company responsible for various notable publications such as Sawubona, the SAA magazine. One of her significant ventures is Koe’sister Magazine, a quarterly publication that celebrates South African culinary traditions. The magazine features recipes passed down through generations, highlighting the rich and diverse food heritage of the nation. Koe’sister is a product of her Food Fairies, an-online group began during Covid.Community EngagementIngrid was married to Peter Jones, and together they built a life in Pringle Bay. Peter was a prominent South African political activist and a key figure in the Black Consciousness Movement (BCM). He is best remembered for his close association with Steve Biko and his unwavering commitment to the struggle against apartheid. In 2019, Peter Jones suffered a stroke, which led to a period of declining health. He passed away on February 14, 2023, at the age of 72.
