In collaboration with The BellaDonnas, the Cape Town Oriental Dance Festival will offer a full workshop day on Saturday, 25 October 2025 at the Nia Dance Studio, 10 Anson St, Observatory:

- 11:00 - 12:45: Fiery Fusion: “Heat” Choreography with Yvette Demas (Infused Belly Dance)Dive into an original, edgy fusion choreo blending modern belly dance with contemporary and “heels style” vibes. Aimed at intermediate/advanced, but open to all who want to challenge themselves! Style: Modern Fusion. (Some dance experience recommended.)

- 13:00 - 14:45: Choreography Kindling with Marisa CopleyFind the heart of your performance, and let it blaze. Through dance and awareness experiments, movement formulations, and some sparks of theory, we’ll discover an array of ways to access your authentic voice and create heartfelt, dynamic choreographies. Open-level and suitable for all styles.

- 15:00 - 16:45: Fan & Skirt - A Gypsy’s Tale with Paola Diaz (Artist Souls Dance School & Performing Arts)Embark on a journey through The Siren Project’s Fan Dialect and heritage-inspired skirt work! Learn foundations, dynamic combos, and blends of FCBD® style, flamenco influences, and more. Open to all levels and genres – no prior prop experience needed.

- 17:00 - 18:45: Shaabi’licious with Cherith Sanger (BellArise)Get playful and funky with street shaabi! Discover interpretations, techniques, movements, and a short, cheeky choreo to sass up your performances. All levels, fitness, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds welcome!
