Doors open to this chilled venue at 3pm music Starts 4pmish, Cold Beer, beverages & Burgers from The green Room available but you can bring your own specialised drinks & glasses , being a LEAVE NO TRACE Event we ask you to please take what you bring, back home with you ! This is a Fundraiser so part of The Profits go to The bird Sanctuary so buying a burger or drink helps ! Kids Tickets U12 are R50 and if they sell out online will be available at the door !

DOC MACLEAN (Toronto) and RIAAN SMIT ( Nambia )

Forty-five years ago Doc MacLean was playing Charlie Patton songs in Son House’sliving room. In recent years he’s been self driving across Africa with a battered Nationalguitar and a small PA, playing in places where things are burning by the side of the road:places where dreams mix with cold beer and red wine: places where joy and sorrow andlife and death crowd every moment. On his “Secret Stories” Tour, Doc takes his listenersalong on his unique, fifty year journey down the Blues Highway.

Began his career on the storied Flying Fish label out of Chicago. With his musical partner,Colin Linden, he played, toured and recorded with Sam Chatmon’s Barbeque Boys,Blind John Davis, Little Brother Montgomery, Sunnyland Slim, Sonny Terry &Brownie McGhee, and a host of others. Opened numerous shows for Muddy Waters, JohnHammond, Jr., Johnny Winter… Celebrated storyteller- songwriter in the delta tradition,

RIAAN SMIT

Riaan Smit is an award-winning singer/songwriter with origins in Namibia & South Africa. He ha extensively toured Internationally and released 6 full length original studio albums to date. He is most known for his work with his bands Crimson House, and the Brothers Remedy. He has shared festival stages with giants such as Bryan Adams, Duran Duran, Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Blondie, & The Chainsmokers to name a few. He continues to tour worldwide sharing his music with audiences around the globe. With 15 years of performance experience behind him he continues to write, perform and tour on a regular basis. His style of music is extremely varied, with roots in the blues and gypsy music, in his mastery of looping he has the ability to create the sound of a full band on his own, while still preferring to work with musicians. His only former job outside of music was a brief 3-year stint as a Ringmaster in a widely popular circus cabaret, which trained him the ways of world-class entertainment.
