The contemporary sounds of the Cape and the rich tradition of South African jazz are celebrated this year with a series of concerts in the SU Conservatorium’s outdoor amphitheatre. Members of the Maties Jazz With Ramon Alexander (keyboard), Danel Dippenaar (alto saxophone, flute), Joshua America (guitar), Dylan Tabisher (double bass), Annemie Nel (drums)
In this concert, Alexander takes audiences back to where it all began, with a nod to the legendary Stellenbosch-based band of the early 2000s, ESP—a group that helped shape his musical voice. Alongside this nostalgic tribute, this Cape Jazz maestro will also showcase brand-new material from his highly anticipated upcoming album, set for release in 2026.

In dié konsert neem Ramon Alexander gehore terug na waar dit alles begin het, met ’n kopknik na ESP, die legendariese Stellenbosch-gebaseerde orkes van die vroeë 2000’s wat gehelp het om sy musikale stem te vorm. Hy deel ook materiaal van sy langverwagte nuwe album wat in 2026 uitgereik word.
Die kontemporêre klanke van die Kaap en die ryk tradisie van Suid-Afrikaanse jazz word vanjaar gevier met ’n reeks musiekkonserte in die opwindende buitelug-amfiteater van die US Konservarorium. Lede van die Maties Jazz Society sal die konserte afskop. Bring jou instrument saam om na afloop van die konserte aan ’n jam-sessie saam met die kunstenaars deel te neem.
