The fifth Jewish Literary Festival will be held in Cape Town after Freedom Day, on public holiday Monday 28 April 2025. Look forward to a one-day extravaganza of discussion, inspiration and stories! Our featured international authors include David Baddiel, Jonathan Freedland, Nadia Bilchik, and Zibby Owens. Local literature will include fiction by Diane Awerbuck, Paige Nick, and Karen Lazar; compelling memoirs and biographies from former UCT Vice-Chancellor Max Price, Joanne Jowell, and Nikki Munitz. On the non-fiction menu is former MP Tony Leon, Jonathan Ancer, Ryan Blumenthal, and Steven ‘Boykey’ Sidley.
Be ready for an irresistible day of stories – of reflection, of murder, of love and loss, betrayal and bravery. It’s also a day of learning: history, economics and politics – all with a Jewish connection. The festival consists of approximately 25 sessions held over the course of one day with a plenary session at the end of the day. Registration starts at 8.30 to enable us to begin the first sessions at 9am. Your ticket entitles you to attend any five sessions and includes lunch, a complementary coffee, fruit and water. Watch this space for updated information about our authors and the programme in the build-up to JLF2025.
Please note: If you purchase more than one ticket under the same name, our event organizers will contact you for security reasons to obtain the relevant information for the other tickets.
