“Lift Club is an inter-generational 5-piece band, based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. The band comprises Jules Janisch on keyboard, Crick Lund on base, Dee and Erin Janisch on vocals and Lawrence Helman on guitar and vocals. At the Alma gig on 31 October, we will be joined by young musical prodigy, Sam Lund on drums. Over the years we have had the privilege of playing with Cape Town music icons, Andrew Janisch and Pete Digby. Andrew showed us how to write our own material. He taught us not to ignore the importance of lyrics. Our music is a mix of folk and blues with a touch of rock, jazz and pop. It has been described as “the opposite of hectic”. We are 3-time finalists in the Barleycorn songwriter’s competition. We have played at many of Cape Town’s leading venues with the Alma Café being a regular. We have 2 CD’s out - “School Boy” and “Far Off Distant Places”. We are currently working on a 3rd EP release with Wayne Pauli and Dave Langemann. “Well I saw an old Sannyasin
