Born Lindokuhle Matina,Chosi hails from the dusty streets of KwaZakhele Township in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

Chosi describes her sound as a soilful blend of jazz nesingqi. Her influences are her family’s church - the Zion church. She comes from a musical family, from chorul to gospel music. She realised her artistry when she started writing poetry to help make sense of the socio-political climate she was in at the time.From poetry, she wrote songs.

Chosi holds a double major degree in Social Anthropology and film from the University of Cape Town. Where she also returned for a year of music and performance. She has performed all over South Africa and has collaborated with award winning rapper Dee Koala for her debut album for the Khaltsha as well as Kujenga. She has just released her Victory Song project and she has done extensive work in film scoring both nationally and internationally.
