An enthusiastic and passionate group of young musicians known by the name Chapterz established their band in year 2012. These young artists had a common goal influenced by their daily experiences from their community and surroundings. Through their heart- warming melodies their aim as a band is tell stories through music and to share and make good memories to many. Their music traces elements of Jazz, Afro soul, Traditional Music, Gospel and R&B Music.

In the early stages of the band, Chapterz, had the opportunity to showcase their talents on various media platforms including Bush Radio and Iqhayiya FM 97.0, as well as on national television channels such as Cape Town TV on the Open Studio Show, SABC 2 on Hectic nine 9, the band also performed Live on Expresso Morning Show when they were accompanying Nono Nkoane as Suitecase. In 2013 Chapterz performed at the annual Cape Town Youth Jazz Festival hosted by ESP.
