Wireless Cowgirl Events and Rock It Real presents a Halloween party with none other than No Friends Of Harry! Yup… You read that right! Legendary South African Goth Rockers No Friends Of Harry who last played in SA almost nine years ago!

So… Dress-up in your best Halloween costumes join us for a night of Freaky Fun! DJ Squeek and Lukin’ Joshua will provide the entertainment before the main band. (Lukin’ Joshua will be performing a live set).

DJ Squeek will play out the rest of the evening with nostalgic old school Goth and Alternative music.

This event forms part of the No Friends Of Harry “The Broken Generation Tour”. It’s also the launch of their long awaited “NO FRIENDS OF HARRY - THE BOX SET”. Which includes No Friends of Harry’s first three albums; One Came Running, Into the Valley and 15 Seconds, all with original cover designs, plus another full album choc full with rediscovered tracks, demos and live recordings on vinyl, all of which have been re mastered from the original long-lost analogue tapes by legendary producer Matthew Fink together with the band. It will also include an album-sized printed photo and word booklet with a history of NFOH, and lyrics for all albums and more all lovingly packaged in a box.

No Friends Of Harry:

Formed in Johannesburg in 1986, No Friends Of Harry rightly claim the title of South Africa’s first and most influential alternative/goth band, thanks to heavy rotation (primarily on Barney Simon’s Shadow Show on the then “Radio 5”) and constant live appearances.

Lukin Joshua:

Lukin Joshua is a Johannesburg-born, Cape Town-based indie solo singer- songwriter, loop artist, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. Lukin is known best for his ability to entertain crowds all over the country through the magic of looping different sounds and instruments over each other. Whether you’re a canoe-on-a pond kind of person, or a full-on adrenaline junkie, he’s sure to get you moving. Lukin Joshua has shared the stage with the following SA artists and performed at the following festivals: - Springbok Nude Girls, Karen Zoid, Glaskas, Black Cat Bones, 4AM, Posterboy, Splashy Fen 2023.

DJ Squeek:

DJ Squeek is passionate about South African music and has been in the industry since the late 80’s. He was the music journalist for Cape Times’ “Top Of The Times” for 10 years and also wrote for magazines such as Your LMG, Stephen “Sugarman” Segerman’s SA Rock Digest. DJ Squeek presented the Western Cape gig guide every Tuesday Live on Barney Simon’s SA music show on Radio 2000 and has hosted and co-hosted many other radio shows (He is currently the presenter for Rock It Real). He was the music journalist for Cape Times’ “Top Of The Times” for 10 years. His first stage appearance was in front of over 2500 people, supporting “No Friends Of Harry” at the University of Cape Town Yellow Level where he met Barney Simon for the first time. DJ Squeek has played at many venues (The Playground, Mercury, The Stage, DecoDance, Delerium, Gandalf to name a few) and festivals including Up The Creek, Synergy Live, Ramfest, Rocking The Daisies and many other events.

Wireless Cowgirl Events:

Owned and run by Alison Geduldt. She is a legend in her own right! Alison ran her own Music Production Company called MORE MUSIC CONCERTS Which included 3 hard-core concerts, 2 in JHB where she brought 5 Cape Town bands in a bus to play with 5 hard-core JHB Bands at The Newtown Cultural Centre at Mega Musics Venue and one in Cape Town. Bands included Hog Hoggidy Hog and Band Of Gypsys. Alison also did backstage co-ordination and hospitality for Iron Maiden’s drummer, Nicko McBrain plus many more !

Rock It Real:

Rock It Real was specifically created as a platform to bring undiscovered SA talent to the forefront and showcase bands that would usually be passed over by mainstream channels. Rock It Real is an SA music radio show hosted by DJ Squeek and broadcast LIVE from Cape Town, South Africa every Thursday from 8pm to Midnight (SAST).

Woodstock Brewery:

Woodstock Beerhall serves up an SA take on a Bavarian Beerhall. Situated at 252 Albert Road, Woodstock, Cape Town, South Africa, it’s home to some really amazing beers and has hosted many music events for quite a few iconic SA bands. The venue has ample secure parking, food trucks, an amazing balcony and great vibe.

Riverlodge Backpackers:

If you don’t want to drive or Uber after the gig, consider booking a room at Riverlodge Backpackers. They are just 10 minutes (4,9Kms) away from the Woodstock Brewery!!! Riverlodge Backpackers is based in Oude Molen Eco Village, Pinelands. It is the closest backpacking hostel to Cape Town International Airport and the city centre is a mere 12min drive away by either car or train. They offer a convenient on-site shuttle service and they’re also an accredited Baz Bus stop.
