The Yzer Challenge is an annual event to raise funds for the Yzerfontein Neighbourhood Watch. It is an adventurous fun filled opportunity for residents, day visitors, holidaymakers, and sport enthusiasts to participate in the non-league non-timed walk / run, cycling and a relaxing beach fun walk for the whole family. Pets are welcome on the beach walk.

The Yzer Challenge takes place on 27 December 2025 with three different events to choose, 5km fun beach walk, a 12km road cycling event and a 12km walk/run.

Yzerfontein Neighbourhood Watch use the fundraising to maintain essential equipment such as radios, relay stations, and observation systems and to renew outdated and unserviceable operational equipment.
